Living in the moment means focusing all of your energies - heart, soul, mind, body - on this moment of robust magical splendor. Magic happens when you pause and live in the moment. Your past melts. The future stops. Time stops. Living in the moment gives you a break from life's chaos. It's a refreshing, clean shower for your soul.
Some people find it difficult to "Live in the Moment" or meditate. They can't shut off their brain and thoughts. If that's you, keep reading.
New moms slip into "The Now" or meditation easier. Childbirth trained them. If you're a mom finding it hard to slip into the "now", take a few moments and remember your childbirth delivery. Not the pain of it. The intense focus you had. Breathing or pushing, you lived in the moment. You did it then; you can do it now. Without the pain. Remember the magical wander and love you felt when holding your newborn for the first time? How time stood still? You experienced it then. You can access it again. That's your Zen State.
If you haven't experienced childbirth, here's an exercise for you. Best done if you're sitting alone and can take a 5-minute break. Ready?
With lightning precision, feel and sense this moment. Breathe in the scents and aromas around you. Take a deep breath and imagine fresh oxygen filling your lungs, clearing any toxins from your blood cells. If you imagine it, your thoughts make it real. Your thoughts control your body.
Now. Free your mind, open your mind, to the sounds you hear around you. At this moment. Birds singing, people talking, music playing, rush of cars passing by? Direct your focus to only one thing you hear. Drowned out all other noises.
As you breathe in fresh oxygen, exhale old energy, and listen to that one noise, what do you see around you? Out of everything you see, what item makes you feel good or at peace? A stationary item like a photo, art piece, your favorite chair, a blossoming tree or a blank wall. Stare at that item as you feel your lungs expand and contract with each breath, while listening to that one sound.
Stare, breathe, listen. Feeling more relaxed with each breath. You're stopping time. Your thoughts drift away like sand in the wind. Peace touches you. Let it fill you up.
Now. Softly close your eyes. Stay focused on 3 things: the aroma around you, the sound you chose, and your breath. Sit in that, for a few minutes. Don't worry about the clock. If a thought or worry pops up, say "go away", "next", "Brain, stop thinking," until your thoughts drift away from you.
When you reach a calm, sit in it for a while. Feel it. Feel grateful.
When you're ready to open your eyes again, take one last deep breath, exhale, then slowly open your eyes.
Practice this technique often. Turn off the world at least once a day. Usually just takes 10 minutes. If you want to spend longer in this peace place, that's good too. Not more than 30 minutes. This technique can get addictive! If you fall asleep during this exercise, you did it right! If you didn't fall asleep but felt peaceful, you also did it right! There's no wrong way. As long as you took the time and reached a peace state.
You can do this anywhere. No special instruments, incense or special meditation room needed. Just focus on three things: what you smell, hear, feel and see. Change the technique to fit you. I practice this for 40 years. Whether I'm at a busy airport, on a plane, in middle of a crowd, driving, mad at something or someone. Of course when driving, don't close your eyes!
There are other ways to stop time and live in the moment. Exercise, skydiving, zip-lining, sitting in nature, hiking, sports, sex, chatting with your best friend, taking care of an infant or toddler, walking-training your pet, working on your car or house. So many ways to live in the moment, wash away the past, stop your thoughts.
When we use social media, we're not living in the moment. It's a false reality. Playing games on our phones: also not good. Phones, laptops, tablets give off a frequency that jumbles and numbs our senses. Every hour or two, take a 15-minute break from them. Don't sleep near them. They cause neuro-issues and inflammation (eg. lupus, certain cancers, early dementia, ADHD, anxiety). Electronic frequencies short-circuit our nervous system and brain cells. If you have trouble sleeping, that's probably why. Remove electronics near your head and bed when sleeping at night.
Today's AI and High-Tech world creates new anxieties. Instead of popping a Xanax, create 1-2 unique ways to organically "Live in the Moment" or meditate. For your mental and physical health.
Channeled Info: This year, more incidences of fentanyl-laced anti-anxiety medications will happen. Even if you get your meds from Walgreens or CVS, you risk fentanyl exposure. Please don't order meds from an online source you don't know (eg Canada or Mexico). Don't order meds from an ad on TikTok or other Social Media sites. Any meds made in China create risk of fentanyl dust. Pharmaceuticul companies are not legally liable or responsible if their drugs are laced with fentanyl. You must be cautious and careful. Why will this happen? Drug Cartels and their sponsors are very pissed off at our new President Trump. Sabotaging anxiety meds: their next ploy.
Instead of taking meds to calm you, try a technique like mentioned here. It's more organic, portable, less expensive. Your soul is fully capable of calming you, resetting your stress level.
Personally, I'm surprised how many people take anti-anxiety meds. Studies show 70% Americans aged 14+ take some type of cure for anxiety. As a double-homicide survivor, I never took anything for my 10-year PTSD (1988-1998). In fact, therapists weren't aware of homicide PTSD until 9/11 (2001). I taught myself how to stay calm and buck fears, without drugs and alcohol. Even in dangerous situations. You can too.
We live in an abundant nation on an abundant, sustainable, amazing self-recycling planet. From 1997-2019, violent crime was amazingly low. Why do people feel so anxious, depressed and traumatized? The result of our phones, social media or Covid restriction nonsense? Are people not taught life skills anymore? Not taught the strength of their soul?
Anti-anxiety drugs and substances invite nefarious energies into your life. Even if you're not consciously aware. Even if you didn't invite them "in". Even if those meds are legal. Negative energies and low-spirits love mood-altering drugs. Our psychic soul defenses relax. They can easily sneak in. Energies exist around us that want to share our human experience. Or mess with us. Why risk it? Be careful with mood-altering substances.
Tons of natural ways to reduce or eliminate your stress and anxiety. Your body, mind, and spirit know how. At birth, you're given the tools inside you to conquer anything around you.
Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!
